Happy?

I was doing a root word search on happy in the bible (using the Blue Letter Bible). I looked up several references – and thought a good example for happy was here;

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Seems like a lot of people quote only half of this verse – and then infer we need some kind of trance like vision in order to have an authentic Christian walk. The reality though seems to be more – a vision is “to see” – and then you could say literally blind people (spiritually) will perish.

The next bit gets even more interesting. The word happy comes from a root word which means “to advance – or go straight”. Huh? i always thought happy was a feeling – and it turns out it is directly linked to obedience to Gods laws. obedience = happiness as we advance with a direction provided by Gods word, and a relationship with Christ. Cool. Be Happy!
