joy of the Lord is my strength

Well, this song, joy, posed some new challenges – including a drum solo.

In psalm 7 David uses the word shiggaion in the title of the psalm, which is from the word shaga “to reel with drink”. It is also used to denote strong emotion and impassioned imagination. Psalm 7 is considered a psalm of lament. I am using the term in joy ( more the impassioned / strong emotion direction). One clear point in all of this is that we should have joy in our walk with God. We were created for delight, and if we do not get delight in our relationship with God – we will seek it in carnal pleasures (Aquinas). I find it an honor to serve Jesus Christ. I have joy in my walk with him, and I celebrate being able to praise him.  I had a lot of fun making this song – and hopefully you’ll enjoy it too! Note – this song may be a bit much for some – no offense intended. Go to music > joy.
