new music > oh my Lord, liquid synth, badditude

ok so this week I am putting up some bonus audio (2 pieces), sharing a little of what I experiment from time to time, I am also sharing a spectral frequency display which to my eyes is quite beautiful…and also a new song which brings me to the following;

First up is “oh my Lord”…stompin kick, disco bass, a harmonica solo, wah wah guitar, cheezy synth and even a cowbell…my daughter said it was “different” – could be a bad omen 😮

oh my Lord
oh my I cry dear Lord wont you please help me
I’m just a poor sinner dear Lord won’t you set me free
just send that ‘ol devil away beyond the light
I’m just gonna praise your holy name that’s right

oh my Lord a brand new chord help me sing
oh my Lord with your word let the praises ring

when I’m lookin at this world it’s broken bad
seein and feelin all this pain and sorrow makes me sad
I don’t have so much to offer lord this is true
but your spirits a gift through me the best from you

oh my Lord a brand new chord help me sing
oh my Lord with your word let the praises ring
oh my Lord the Spirits good sonic wing
oh my Lord people have heard you’re my King

harmonica solo

oh my Lord a brand new chord help me sing
oh my Lord with your word the praises ring
oh my Lord the Spirits good sonic wing
oh my Lord people have heard you’re my King

Next up:a short experiment which paired a somewhat funky bass line with a lovely (IMO) synth, I really like the fluid quality of the sound, it almost pours out of the speaker with high fidelity audio (32 bit) but hey, you can have an inkling of how it sounds with the mp3, I also wanted a pretty dry drum sound with a dancing kik drum which works all righty too

Finally; a nasty noisy driving piece I call badditude, folks this is ugly…crunchy leads with off key harmonic distortion, fatttt low end synth bass ya’ know. One of the challenges on this was to keep it noisy yet clean…the image below is a sampling spectral frequency display from this song (click to enlarge)

look on the bright side – you can always repeat it – thanks for listening

What program did that spectral display come from?

drhill

That would be Adobe Audition 3… when you go to edit mode you have different edit windows – spectral being one – and as you zoom in on an audio file – you get the eye candy!
