Songwriting

I am on day 3 of redoing Truthsville. This is the first time I have done what the pros call “vocal comping”. I sang several tracks – and then meticulously went through and chose the best phrase of each section. Typically I just do say 3 tracks and choose one – but I have found that most pros do many more ( I read somewhere the Eagles did something like over 50 takes for Hotel California) – and many comp – so why not me? There is a lot to be said for the purist approach of 1 live track – but at this point I don’t have the ability, and besides, I have too often in the past said “good enough”, and it almost always is not in retrospect. I am planning on putting the new versions up on the music section – until I put out the album, which I am looking into cover art for.
